Every time there is a Lord Mayor's Student Welcome, The Couch is there to make sure new students to Melbourne are aware of its services.
The Couch had a stall, which Robin and the other volunteers decorated with photos from past events at The Couch.

Gary's idea of welcoming face painting? |
The Couch Volunteer, Christy Li, came along to help, but couldn't resist the allure of the face painting stall herself.

And the final results |
Christy also wrote up the following account of her day:
The Lord Mayor's Student Welcome is an event for International Students that celebrates the diverse multicultural life in Melbourne. As an international student from China, I not only met other Chinese students but also from many other countries.
There were fun activities, cultural arts and performances from all over the world. My favourite part was the fashion show, with many different styles of clothes on display. Watching the show, I really wished I could also be a model on the catwalk.
Another unforgettable experience for me was the face painting. I have never had my face painted before, and it was so impressive that I didn't even want to wash it off later!
Unfortunately, the next Lord Mayor's Student Welcome won’t be until 22 March 2014, but I am already looking forward to it!
Peter also got in on the fun.

But still all in good fun |
There was also the fashion show that inspired Christy.
There were other performances up on stage as well.

Of the three, which face has the strangest expression? |
The Lord Mayor's Student Welcome is always a great event that occurs twice a year. If you haven't been before, I suggest you make your way to the next one.
