On the 29th of November, The Couch celebrated a grand Christmas party! It was also the last day The Couch was open for 2012, so many people came and we saw a mixture of both new and familiar faces.

Happy Carolers |
The Couch was decorated by its hard working volunteers: including a large tree topped with a golden ornament and tinsel everywhere. With people coming dressed in the traditional Christmas colours of red, white and green the Christmas atmosphere was in full swing!

Ignore Choo and check out that tree! |
Everyone was having a great time: chatting, sitting down to dinner and taking happy photos with their friends. After a hearty Christmas meal and taking a group photo outside, Choo Yang gathered people by the piano for some raucous carols. The air was filled with music, singing and laughter as we sang along to Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Finally, The Couch Coordinator, Peter, gave a speech expressing his gratitude to all the people who visited The Couch and helped make it what it is.
So, to Peter, the volunteers and everyone else, I want to thank you all very much for last year and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again this year! I think The Couch is the most wonderful place in Melbourne for international students! Therefore, let's enjoy together and let's make lots of new friends this year too!

Thanks to Yuri and Saki for playing the carols for us. |
